Slow Stitching Sunday

I haven't been doing much sewing since finishing the Crazy Summer project.  We are experiencing a heat wave out here in the West so staying in and hand stitching some self binding.

This little quilt is for the Quilts for Kids organization.

I should have refreshed my memory on cutting for self binding before I cut it 1/2 inch where I probably should have cut it an inch.  The finished binding is 1/4 inch.  I have better control over it by hand stitching it down first then I'll sew a zig zag stitch to further secure it as this is what the organization recommends since the quilts are laundered frequently.  It's turning out just fine and I don't mind that I need to take an extra step in hand sewing.

Linking up with Kathy's Quilts!

Hope you are stayig cool! That is more than a heat wave out west, that is down right dangerous. We hit 100 this week but then cooled back down and had a bit of rain,I feel so blessed!
